The Enchanted Garden

Hi everyone! Happy Spring! I have not been the best blogger lately so I have a few new things to share with you :) Here is a new painting "The Enchanted Garden," on a 5"x7" canvas. This one has gone off to Borealis Arts (Daniel's brother's gallery here in Tucson), but I am going to be doing prints of it soon for my shop.

This one was influenced by this beautiful butterfly at the Tucson Botanical Gardens. For a few months a year they have Butterfly Magic, which is a special enclosed area where there are tons of gorgeous butterflies flying all around you. They come from many different places including Africa and South America. I kow I have talked about going there before, and I have been able to go several times this year! Last time I went with my mom this little friend seemed to be following me around:

Below is a painting I did for the "Bikes at Borealis" show at Borelais Arts, which is actually going on today. It is called "The Star Peddler" (get the double meaning? he he :) As you can see I have really enjoyed painting stars and night skies recently.

I also recently got this wonderful commission from Alia over at Buccaneers and Ballgowns, to paint her adorable kitties LC and Cuppa Tea (love that name!). I depicted them all snuggled up on their favorite chair. Thank you so much Alia, I had a blast painting these cute little cats! :)

And last but not least, I now have postcards of "Through the Clouds" available in my shop, as some of you may have seen already. I am SO excited to finally be able to offer these! I just love the way they came out and I will definitely be getting a bigger selection in my shop soon. Feel free to give me any suggestions of which of my paintings you would like to see on postcards!

Phew, well I think that's it for today! Just a week until we move to our new apartment so you may not hear from me for a little bit, but I won't be gone too long :) I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

The Star Catcher

Hello everyone! Here is a new painting in the shop, "The Star Catcher" done on an 8"x10" stretched canvas. I really enjoyed working on this one for a couple of days, trying to make her look as delicate as possible :)

It is really warming up around here, Daniel and I have been enjoying taking some bike rides around the neighborhood before it gets too hot out! Thank you all for the well wishes about our move to a new apartment in a few weeks, we are really looking forward to it and I will have a little studio space which will be wonderful! :)

I hope you are all having a lovely week so far. My heart really goes out to the people of Japan, I am sending lots of good thoughts and I hope they can all find some sense of peace and normalcy soon.

Queen of the Bees

Hi everyone! Here is a little painting which I finished up yesterday, "Queen of the Bees." She is a gentle and kind ruler of the honeycomb with her little beehive scepter :) She is available here.

Things have been a little busy around here with some preliminary wedding planning, as well as preparing to move into a new apartment in a couple of weeks, but it has been a lot of fun :)

I hope you are all having a great week, and I'll see you soon!

Button and Mischief!

Hello everyone! I have had a very fun week working on this special commission from my dear friend Cameron over at Paint Myself Pretty! We did a special trade where we each did a custom painting for each other, and she painted me a gorgeous pink house which you can check out here. She even included my future married name on the little white fence, so cute! :)

She asked me to paint her two ridiculously adorable kitties, Button and Mischief. I wanted the painting to look cute and cheerful just like the two of them, and I hope I did them justice! She told me that Mischief loves to find cozy spots around the house so I gave her a little pink bed to cuddle up in :) And its not clear in the picture, but Button has one green eye and one blue, so I incorporated that too. I'm sorry that the pictures are a bit washed out (still trying to find that perfect time of day to photograph), but hopefully the painting will look even better in person, he he :)

Thank you SO much for this fabulous trade Cameron, I had a blast! I just can't wait to get my beautiful painting, and I hope you and your family enjoy this little rendition of your cats! Make sure to check out Cameron's online shops here and here and here to find her original artwork and prints. She is an amazing painter and is also extremely multi-talented at making all sorts of adorable things!

I also have one more tidbit: I have listed two ACEO prints in my shop, of "Through the Clouds" and "Marie Antoinette." They are tiny giclee prints on lovely fine art paper and I just love how they came out! I will have a couple more print images soon as well :)

I hope you are all having a lovely Friday, and I'll see you soon :)

Spring Blooms

Hello everyone! Thank you all so much for the congratulations about our engagement, I am very excited to start the wedding planning :) The wedding will not be for about a year so luckily I have plenty of time! Here are a couple of little flower gals I did last week, I have been feeling in a spring-y mood. They are both available in my shop.

I hope you are all having a lovely week! :)
