The Pink Shell

Here is my newest painting, "The Pink Shell," which is available in my etsy shop! I have been wanting to paint another mermaid, and I did a larger one this time, a 12x16. For some reason I have been wanting to paint a little bit larger than usual lately. She took me about four days to paint. Here is a closeup:

I also wanted to let you know that the originals of "Free Bird" and "Metamorphosis" have come home from the art gallery and are available in my shop :)

I had a really fun commission recently, from the lovely Heather over at Rose Hill Designs! She asked me to do a painting of their adorable Chocolate Lab, Brownie. He is now happily at his new home :) I love painting other people's pets as I am such an animal lover myself. Thank you so much Heather, it was so much fun to do! :)

I also wanted to let you know that my mom Joni has started her very own blog with her friend Tonya! They are good friends at work and spend their weekends making beautiful mixed-media artwork (such as the lovely spring bird box below) and hunting for vintage treasures. I know it will be a lot of fun to read, and they would so appreciate it if you popped over and said hi! You can find their blog here.

I hope that everyone is having a great beginning to the week and enjoying the spring days! See you soon :)
