A Mad Tea Party and A Giveaway!! :)

Once upon a time, there was a girl who found a curiously tiny golden key...

She found that this key opened a tiny magical door...

...and she was suddenly transported to a land of magical enchantment and sweet delights...

She happened to spot a distinctive hat amongst all of these lovely things...

...could it be...

...the famous Mad Hatter himself?! Yes, it was!

He grabbed a cupcake which was bigger than his head and invited her to join in on the festivities!

She tried to ask him what this magical place was and what it all meant, but his mouth was quite full...

She tried to decide which delightful morsel to sample first...

...and just as she was reaching for a licorice stick...

...she spotted a curious jar to her left...

She carefully lifted the lid...

...and took a bite.

Suddenly she felt herself growing up and up...even the Mad Hatter was quite shocked when she lifted him up with one hand!

Just as she was trying to decide what to do, she saw a lovely little bottle nearby...

She took a sip of the sweet liquid within...

...and phew! She was back to normal size again! She was now quite thirsty from all of those sweet treats, so she decided that it was time for a spot of tea.

Would you care to join her with a cup of bejewled tea?

Or perhaps you prefer your tea a la mode...

The girl knew that it was now time to go home, but she was sure that she would be back...

...because, as the Mad Hatter would agree...

Betty Loves A Good Book!

Here is a painting I finished yesterday, "Betty Loves A Good Book." For this one I decided to paint a short-haired 'do for the first time! She came from a doodle I did a few days ago. I just knew right away that her name was Betty, and that she wanted to be painted straight away :) She is acrylic on a 5"x7" canvas, and is hanging out in my shop until she can find a good home! Preferably one with lots of good books :) She prefers adventure stories with a bit of romance!

In other exciting news, I won my first giveaway!!! I won this fabulous fox girl painting by the very wonderful and talented Micki from The Secret Hermit Art And Illustration. I was so excited to get her delivered yesterday!! And she is even more beautiful in person. I am still trying to find just the right spot to hang her. Thank you so very much Micki! :)

I hope that you are having a fabulous day! And don't forget to pop by on Saturday for some Mad Tea Party fun! :)

Off On An Adventure

Here is my new painting, "Off On An Adventure." She is going to see where the winds will take her...

She is available in my shop. You might remember her from a Sunday Sketch I did a few weeks back. My camera is not very good at closeups, so the picture above is bit washed out, sorry :/

One little fun fact about this painting is that I based the dress loosely off of a dress that Lucy wears sometimes in I Love Lucy. It is my favorite show, and is usually what I'm watching while I'm painting! She has this fun dress with a huge bow and little opening in the middle that I thought would be so fun for a painting :) Below is my Sunday sketch which I based the painting on.

I have also been busy preparing for a certain Mad Tea Party hosted by the fabulous Vanessa Valencia, which I am very excited about!!! My mom, her friend Tonya, and my sister came over this last Saturday and we had a blast getting it all set up and photographed. I can't wait to show you the pictures!! So if you remember please pop on over this Saturday and check it out :)
I hope you are having a wonderful day, and I'll see you soon! :)
