It is pretty windy here today, and we had a really good storm last evening (finally!). I love how fresh and clean everything looks after a good rain :) I am hoping for a little more rain, but it looks pretty clear out there. Rainy painting days are the best!
I also wanted to thank everyone for their sweet comments about my Daphne painting, you have no idea how much I appreciate it!! Your comments really keep me motivated. I want to paint another Metamorphoses-themed painting soon. To be honest, I need to brush up on the stories, it has been a few years since I read it in college! :) I think it will be really fun though.
I hope you are having a wonderful day, and I'll see you soon! :)
I'm usually very detail oriented in my paintings, too....but lately, I've found that relinquishing some of the control can be quite liberating (though frustrating, at times...lol) I think the 3/4 face turned out well...and the rich green celtic look of her gown is autumnly(I know, not a word) delicious!
ReplyDeleteI wish it would rain here! Rainy day painting IS the Best!! :oD
All my best,
Cameron
Oh my goodness - ANOTHER lovely! She is beautiful, and I agree with Cameron that she has a definite Celtic feel to her. Beautiful work, Lauren! And thank you so much for coming over today and helping me celebrate my little anniversary - it meant a lot! :) Theresa
